The Taylor Family
When Mike told me he wanted to get in touch with an old gaming buddy I was less than enthused.  We were going through the Sondra experience, I was a new mom and I was tired at work.  I didn't want another of Mike's old pals that was kinda a twit to just add to the mix.

Then Jason started gaming with us.  He was very brash and could come on kinda strong.  He was more of a rules lawyer than I was and he was a bit of a drinker.  My confidence wasn't bolstered.

Then things started to change for the Taylors.  Misty, Jason's wife, decided to come up and try the game for herself.  She loved it.  She also loved the chance to be around people that could just be friends, not work buddies, not her husband's family but friends.  Next thing we knew, Jason and Misty and kids were coming up to game with us often.  When we moved to Colorado, Jason and Misty still came up to game, and had a great time.  The thought of driving 300 miles twice a month just to go to a game sounds kinda weird to most folks, but having a place to go where you'll have fun and friends guaranteed was why they were coming.

Then the Falconer-Beddes family moved back to Omaha.  It was from that moment that the plan was hatched for the Taylor family to do the same.  Not long after we moved into our building, Jason and Misty were hauling the kids and stuff up here.
But, like all things, the Taylors relationship was going to change.  They had some issues, some challenges and some problems.  Things were not all smooth sailing, and eventually Jason and Misty split.

It was rough going, cause they were living in the same apartment while getting things sorted out.  Finally Jason moved into the apartment below us, and Jason and Misty were able to deal with each other as people who were now separate.

Recently Misty moved out of the building, so Erica and Jacob are only here every other week.  I miss having them around.

But Jason's had a recent change as well, he's started dating a nice girl.  We're all very excited.  It's been a long time, and he was starting to get kinds stressy.  I keep thanking her and thaking her.  She won brownie points from me the other day when she said "it's my pleasure, really."
I have a great time with Erica and Jacob.  They are very different from Xcylur in a lot of ways, but they all share the same wild kidness.

They are like wild beasts a good deal of the time, the three of them tearing around as if they have some sort of internal engine driving them to mania.  It's more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

They can wear out a grownup in a matter of minutes.

The kids got this whole "guess what - chicken butt" thing turned into a culture of chickens.  I'm serious, we call each other chickens, we take on chicken positions - Heck, we started calling dad the "cock of the walk."  I'm the "little red hen."  It's a communist joke.
