Rah's Blitzen 1 leg
Rah's Blitzen (pictured at 7.5 months) broken chestnut buck. Born 12/25/01 out of Love A Little Thunder (broken blue) and Love A Little Lorelei (broken steel). Won BOV and BOB at Monroe at 4 months. Won BOSV at Monroe at 7 months ------ Type at 4 months: Great head, good shoulders, good loins, great HQ, great balance and good width.. Rated: 9/10 AaB_C_DdE_ ---------------------------------------- Blitz was put to sleep in the week of Dec 18th. He will be missed. Thank you to the Morans for taking such good care of him and making the right decision. Again, I thank you. His dam, Lorelei, passed away on Sept 4/04 of old age. Her last two weeks were spent as a house bunny, ruling her owner's bed and watching sappy chick flicks. Two of my favorite animals, they will be sorely missed. Updates: His litter with Yogi Bear, (DOB: Dec. 23, 03), produced 2 black, 1 broken blue, 1 blue, 1 broken opal, and 1 chestnut (any of the blacks/blues could be steel). -------- Two of the juniors, Rah's Lightning (bk blue buck) and Rah's Lilith Fair (steel doe) are staying in the barn, two of my better animals of my three years of breeding!

Day 8: Dubbed 'Blue', marked with blue nail polish in his ear. Shoulda know he was headed for great things: blue is my favorite colour :)

Day 24: Blitz snuggling with my mum. This was when he had his prolapse still. He wasn't eating much and we had him inside, trying to give him a sweet tooth. (You know when you have an empty stomach, and you eat some candy, and then you get really hungry? That was our plan. And it worked. Little bit of banana :)

Day 60: This is around when he started losing weight. He's very skinny in that pic, but all the fur hides it. Behind him is his mother Lorelei.

Day 13: All the babies running around in a Breyer Horse Barn corral :)
RIP
Blitz has avoided many things in his life. He side-stepped death as a baby; his sister died of mucoid enteritis and he had a bit of it to. But he pulled through it, trooper he was. Yet, from the stress of it and other factors, he developed a prolapsed rectum at 6 weeks. The picture above is not wrong; at 3 months he was the size of a small 6 week old kit (pictured: him begging on a standard crock). When he beat that as well, at 4.5 months old he went on to be Rah Rabbitry's first Best of Breed winner. In the end, an abcess got him, and he had to be put down. He was an odd character. He loved women and hated men. He was a strong little guy with a lot of spunk, he will be dearly missed. Thank you again to the Morans, it cannot be said enough.
