This house was built in the late 1800's by J.G. McLean who owned a lumber yard in the town at that time. It was originally heated with the three fireplaces which are in operating condition today. In later years,  the heating was updated to coal, and now has been converted to a gas forced air furnace system. The current owner  purchased this home in 1999 and has done some renovation to get it back to the style of the 1800's. The dining room and living room hardwood floors have been cleaned and coated with polyurthane. Sanding was not done to keep the "old look" of the original floors. Wainscoating was added to the kitchen area. The woodwork is in excellent shape and very ornate, which makes this house very unique.
There are two original stained glass windows, one cut glass window, and one leaded glass window. All the door entrances have the tilted type transoms. A recent addition of a stained glass above the master bedroom has since been added. Two "pocket" doors separate the downstairs dining room from the living room, and one "pocket" door separates the upstairs master bedroom from the guest bedroom.
