I made some cookies to fortify us at the demonstration in Washington D.C. on January 18th 2003. It was going to be COLD & i wanted something to give us an energy boost.
WARNING; These are NOT low calorie !!!
I had to force a few people to try them, reaction?

This is the original list of ingredients.

 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cups all-purpose flour
 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup chopped walnuts
This is my version.

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
 C white flour
 C wheat flour
 C wheat germ
 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 C raisins
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy.
3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
4. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; stir into the creamed mixture.
5. Mix in oats and nuts until just blended.
6. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Cookies should be at least 2 inches apart.
7. Bake for about 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool cookies on a wire rack.

The cookies seemed a bit too crunchy for my taste, next time I'm going to try 10 minutes baking time instead of 12.
