The
Golden Gear Award is a way of recognizing the best at webMethods. A couple
of people from the company are recognized every 6 months for their outstanding
work, achievement, dedication and webMethods spirit.
Thanks
to the Berkeley Devlopment team for nominating me for the Golden Gear Award.
I worked with the team for the webMethods 6.0 FCS release and going forward.
Special thanks to Andrea, Korin, Michelle, Mike, Najeeb and Sasha for making
my testing experience a lot of fun.

Actions/efforts/accomplishments or behaviors that we believe are deserving
Raghu Krishnan embodies the webMethods values
of “Customers, Leadership and Excellence.”He brings to his work a strong
sense of teamwork, cooperation, passion, enthusiasm, dedication and integrity.
The quality of his work is consistently high and he volunteers for work
that far exceeds his regular responsibilities. Raghu has willingly done
testing on Runtime, Modeler, and Monitor, going way beyond his duties of
doing TN Runtime QA. He thinks of excellent test scenarios and is able
to communicate complex ideas clearly. Besides making sure that the bugs
are reproducible, he analyzes the problems and attempts to isolate where
the problem is actually occurring. He has found numerous (an understatement)
critical/high bugs which has helped ensure our products will work well
for our customers. His strong focus on the customer has been shown by not
only searching for bugs, but determining pertinent feature requests that
will demonstrably enhance the usability and quality of our products. He
actively works to bridge the communication gap between teams and has been
accessible at almost all hours through IM, email and phone despite the
coastal time difference. His enthusiasm extends not only to his job but
to our products and to the company, which inspires our team to work even
harder towards ensuring quality.
Why do we believe him to be noteworthy?
More than anything, Raghu brings a passion
to a job and then exceeds expectations. He has a sharp intelligence which
has helped find so many important bugs. His contribution to our products’
success has been enormous. His persistence and his ability to learn quickly
on his own has enabled us to test the gaps in the platform between several
products which include TN, Modeler, Monitor, Broker, and IS. He has willingly
given his time outside of work to come in on weekends and stay late every
night. He volunteers for more responsibilities than what is required.
Which category best describes this nomination?
While we had a hard time deciding between
leadership and excellence, we feel that excellence is the strongest category
that describes his work. Per the description above, his team spirit, passion,
sharp intelligence, integrity and cooperation with our team has distinguished
the superlative quality of his work. He inspires excellence in our products
and in our team. He has a high degree of professionalism and is always
pleasant and accessible. We feel that he demonstrates leadership because
of his willingness to identify and take on additional tasks and we are
assured that the testing of our products is in good hands.
What other webMethods values have been demonstrated?
While we have gone into detail above, among
the numerous values that Raghu has demonstrated are: teamwork, cooperation,
passion, integrity, professionalism, intelligence, dedication, enthusiasm,
initiative, communication, and last but not least “Customers, Leadership
and Excellence.”
What additional information would you like to add that supports this nomination?
Raghu is creative and persistent in the execution
of his job. For an extremely complex bug, he took the extra effort to make
a screen capture of all the steps necessary to reproduce it and attached
it to Siebel. This was extremely helpful since it reduced the amount of
time necessary to reproduce and understand the bug from our end. Although
none of us have met him since we work on different coasts, we feel that
he is an integral part of our team. He is very personable and often greets
people as they log into IM each morning. Raghu is the epitome of the model
QA and we’ve been honored to work with him through the course of this release.
