Picture taken from Akaroa, a small formerly French colony sitting on the Banks Peninsula just an hour away from Christchurch. |
Hanmer Springs alpine village where we enjoyed natural hot springs and skiing. |

A remote beach just outside of Dunedin along the southeast shore of the South Island. Many of the beaches in this area have seal, penguins and albatross colonies that can be viewed after a short hike. |
Same beach as above. The beach here was so remote and untouched, it almost felt like something you would see in a movie. |

Our favorite place in Christchurch, New Brighton beach. This coastal section is not yet built up because of the "cold" wind that seems to concentrate here. Still we loved spending time on this beach, jogging along the sand dunes, and even did some surfing here. |
Just down the road from New Brighton, this upscale beachfront area has some amazing coastline views. |
