Chapter 1: New Recruits

It was after Lothor's defeat that Sensei sat down with Tori and Blake. The two blue ninja warriors were not sure why Sensei wanted to speak with them they were both sure it had to be important. they both stood infrount of their senshi glad that he had his human form once more.
"I'm glad Lothor's gone," The Navy ThunderRanger said, "But it leaves many questions as to what will happen- and his nieces are still free."
"That much is true, Blake," The teacher told him, "But there are five new students that are women- and perhaps they can counter their evil."
"All we really have to worry about is the elder of the sisters," Tori said, "Kapri's one of the worst when it comes to sisters. Marah is not that bad. It is almost like she stays for she is afraid of change."
All three of them sat around in silence, thinking of what the evil the elder of the two women could pull off. The thoughts chilled the Senshi and his two students to the bones.

Meanwhile, the five girls stood to the side of the four classes, garbed in the uniform of a new student and somehow, this made Brandie mad. "I had hoped that they would have given us our class ranking by now," She said anger and impatience colored her voice. She was fairly bouncing with energy. Being trained all her life in different martial arts she looked forward to the challenge that the ninja school would give her.
Shane had noted the one girls impatience and nodded to Dustin and Hunter, the other three members of Ninja Storm came up and asked for the five girls to follow them.
"You think you're angered by not receiving your official ranking," Shane said his voice crisp with his displeasure at their attitudes. Well the one girl's attitude at any rate, "Then here's your first challenge- beat us in sparring, and we'll give you your ranks."
"I'm the only one who's peeved at that," Brandie replied coolly, "I'll take on Hunter for that privilege." She eyed the taller blonde man sizing up his strength. She knew he was strong. But she also knew that she could beat him if she tried.
Hunter for his part eyed the petite young woman before him. He could sense the strength in the tiny frame of the woman before him. He was surprised by her fire. He knew she would be a challenge. He enjoyed a challenge.
So Brandie paired off with Hunter, Sandra with Dustin and Cassandra with Shane... and that left Dale and Angela out of it for the time being. Dale went off somewhere to work on her Shudokan Karate while Angela sat there alone.
Blake and Tori noticed Dale alone, working on some of what she knew. "That must have been how Dale got into the academy," Blake said with Tori nodding her head.
"I bet she was a dedicated student to her sensei," she added. They both stood watching the young woman for a while. Liking what they saw within her.
Angela was looking at a pretty purple orchid, her eyes roving over its surface. Taking in its curves and its beauty, she also noted its delicate strength- For it was strong yet weak at the same time. 'If flowers could become Ninja,' she thought, 'I wish I could become the orchid.'
At that moment, Dale was suddenly taken by the beauty of a water lotus, another member of the orchid family. She saw how the leaves and stalk held the flower above the water's surface- and how she held many characteristics behind the beautiful flower. 'This would be my flower if I was a Ninja,' she thought.
During the sparring, Sandra had Dustin defeated by using defense than attack. They both moved with a fluidly that would surprise many watching. The pair were well matched in their battle. Yet Sandra still defeated him. Dustin dusted himself of the floor he smiled at Sandra. "Dude, Very good Sandra."
Shane was also beaten by Cassandra using the same techniques, the two moved with a swiftness that Sensei could and did like. Both battled well. Cassandra still triumphed over Shane much to his dismay.
Now it was up to Brandie to beat Hunter. The two were going strongly against each other. They were quite well matched in moves and strength. the little woman was amazing Hunter which is something not many could do. He decided to taunt her either into winning against him or loosing.
"You're a strong fighter, Brandie," The Crimson ThunderRanger said, "But you're not as strong as me."
"We'll see about that," Brandie replied- then used a leg sweep to knock him onto the ground and pinned him when Blake and Tori walked up.
"Well done, Brandie," Blake said. He had to smile for the petite woman had gotten his brother good. Hunter for his part did not look too thrilled in his defeat at her hands. Blake could see rematch dancing in Hunter's eyes. The younger of the thunder brothers shook his head.
Tori just smiled seeing something that the others missed. Something that would eventually happen given time.

Dale was sitting near the patch of water lotuses near the main hall of the academy when the elder sensei walked up to her. "I see you're taken by the beauty of the water lotus," he remarked, "And how your own body holds many of its characteristics."
"Yes, Sensei," Dale replied, "I remember reading about Kakuranger, and how they had to battle a female group of counter-rangers, called the Hana Ninjas."
"They, too, were based on flowers, no?" the sensei replied, and Dale nodded her head yes.
"You remind me of the strength of the water lotus," The teacher said, "And I see, in you, the strength of Suiren. I also saw Angela near a patch of orchids and she reminded me of Ran, another member of the Hana Ninjas." He then left to find Blake and Tori.
"Come with me to NinjaOps," he told them, "I want to show you five something." He looked at his Ninja storm Rangers they nodded following their sensei to NinjaOps.

Dale and Angela found each other and caught up with the others. Dale then asked the three, "Did you three have a favorite flower?"
"My favorite was the lily," Sandra said, "Just as much as my sister's was the orchid."
Each one then told of their favorite flower- with Brandie and Cassandra saying that theirs were the Sweet Flag and the Cherry Blossom, respectively. "Don't you wish that our favorite flowers could become our Ninja abilities?" Dale asked them.
The girls nodded looking at each other. They did not realize how right they were in what their ninja powers would be based from.

And inside NinjaOps, Sensei and Cam showed them the old Kakurangers and how they battled the Hana Ninjas of one time. "They were able to contain the essences of these five into a different set of Doron Changers," The teacher said, "And over the years the powers changed their attitudes so that people who were like the flowers they were born from."
"So in this day and age," Blake said smiling brightly, "A new generation of Hana Ninja would be born."
"Eventually, the Doron Changers became similar to the WindRanger Morphers," Cam said, "So we could create a new group of Power Rangers."
"But what would they be called?" Dustin said, " 'FlowerPower Rangers' would be too ordinary." he sighed rubbing his forehead. knowing he should be able to come up with something.
Cam sighed his mind whrilling for he knew that Dustin was correct. The girls would need a good name. And FlowerPower Rangers sounded like a bunch of hippies. He sighed.
"What about 'Power Rangers - Flora Storm'?" Tori suggested. "For their transformation words."
"That sounds decent." Cam said softly. "But now the group needs a name." He sighed looking at the others.
"Hana Flora Ninja Rangers?" Hunter suggested. "Combining the old with the new?"
"Or Botanic Rangers?" Dustin smiled as his mind came up with a secound name as well. "Sylvan Rangers?"
"Nymph Rangers?' Shane suggested only to gain a few strang looks. "Hey I tried..."
"What about 'Hana Rangers'?" Cam suggested. "It's simple and to the point of what the powers were before."
"Not too bad an idea, Cam," Sensei said.
All five agreed and Shane said, "From here on in, the five girls are known as the Hana Rangers."
"Next question." Hunter spoke gravely. "Is when do we tell them of this great honor we are about to gift them with?"
They all looked at Sensei. "Soon just not yet they need some ninja training plus I need to decide who their teachers will be. Each of you will be assigned a student of one of the five to teach." They all nodded. "I just need to observe them some more to decide if they are earth, water, air or thunder." His eyes meet with his son's "Eventually there will be a sixth I am sure and she will be trained by you."
Cam nodded.
They watched as Sensei disappeared to go observe the five new students. Blake sighed. "I still cannot believe our Sensei ordered us to stay here and asked for two of Sensei for two of his best students but none of you he would accept."
"He did not want to break up the team little bro." Hunter pointed out to him.
The group nodded and decided on an all out sparing session.

Sensei watched the five new students Brandie was supervising their sparing. She was watching at her fellows, an unreadable expression on her face. Sensei had a feeling that there was a story behind that mask.
Dale was sparing with Sandra, the two were quite even but Dale was beginning to tire while Sandra appeared fresh. Senshi noted this he then watched the other two spar for one of his teachers had already pointed out to him that Bran would make a good thunder ninja.
Cassandra was sparing with Angela. both were going strong. Sensei noted that Angela had the characteristics of one of his students of air. Cassandra would be the other thunder ninja as Sensei could see. He smiled and disappeared to inform his students of who they would be training.
Sensei left his newest students to their sparing with each other. He knew Brandie would not let them go too far. He could see the leadership potional within her. Even thought she seemed a little distant, even cold.

Walking back into NinjaOps. He noted the his students and his son were all once again talking quietly. "My students who are about to become teachers." They all looked at him in awe. "Here are your assignments with the new five. Shane." Looking at his red wind ranger. "You will teach Angela the ways of air." Shane bowed, Sensei then went on looking at Tori. "Tori you shall teach Dale the way of the water." Tori nodded and bowed. Senshi's eyes were now on Dustin. "Dustin you shall teach Sandra the ways of the Earth." Dustin smiled lopsidly at his Senshi and bowed. Sensei's eyes caught the thunder brothers. "Hunter you will teach Cassandra, for she will accept your training and will not butt heads with you." For he could see the protest in Hunter's eyes. The blonde bowed and accepted the assignment. He looked at Blake.
The younger of the thunder brother's sighed. "So I get to train Brandie." Sensei nodded pleased that Blake would not fight him over this. For Sensei had noted the beginnings of an attraction between the crimson thunder and the newest student. He also noted Tori had seen it as well.
Sensei went on gazing at his students who were now teachers as well. "I will also be training the five in another art." The six nodded. "Pausing as well as training Brandie in leadership skills, for as the Blue ranger she will be in charge of the others."

Meanwhile outside, Brandie frowned for Cassandra was getting very aggressive with Angela. "This is a sparing match Cassandra not an all out fight. keep it within that." She frowned realizing she was not being listened to. That was making her mad, above Brandie the sky began to darken with heavy grey clouds.
"Your not the sensei." Cassandra growled angry that this girl was snapping orders at her like she was special or something. Cassandra was still upset with being grouped with the person that she viewed as trouble. She glared at Brandie. Cassandra missed the story look in the eyes of the person she was glaring at for Brandie's face was still in its mask.
The dark haired girl crossed her arms. "Take me on then." Cassandra stopped fighting Angela and with a howl. Sensei and the ninja storm rangers watched in shock as Cassandra launched her attack on Brandie.
The dark haired girl for her part just raised an eyebrow and stepped out of the way and with one swift movement sent Cassandra flying over to land at Sensei's feet. Brandie then looked up at the sky and sighed. Closing her eyes, Blake could see her faintly shaking like she was battling something from within.
Dustin looked up at the grey skies and watched as the storm moved and lightened. "Whoa Dudes that was odd."
"Indeed." Sensei said as Cam helped Cassandra too her feet. "Stop sparring girls. I have come to assign you teachers." The five stood before Sensei all watched him gravely. "Cassandra your teacher is Hunter. You will learn the ways of thunder from him." The blonde girl nodded meeting Hunter half way they stood over the side. Waiting for the others to be paired up. "Dale your teacher is Tori. You shall learn the ways of Water from her." Dale and Tori meet up and stood near Hunter and his new student.
Sensei looked at the remaining three two looked happy about this but the third one wore an impassive mask of nothing, no emotion flickered on Blake's future student's face. Sensei went on. "Sandra, child of Earth your teacher will be Dustin." They meet and went to over to the side with the other four.
Sensei sighed looking at the last two. "Angela you shall learn the ways of the air. Shane will be your teacher." Angela bowed and meet up with Shane.
"And I as to the usual am the left over." was Brandie's icy reply. Looking at Blake she bowed to her sensei and to Sensei. "I will learn the ways of thunder, from Sensei Blake." Unlike the others she gifted her new teacher with his respective title.
