Official League Rules

 

The Draft

 

The official league draft will take place on a pre-selected day that all participants agree on. The draft will consist of 16 rounds in which at some point during the draft you must select the following: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D/SP. (Notice that this is only 8 players. How you select the other 8 players is up to you!) Draft positions will be chosen randomly and the draft will proceed in “serpentine style”(ex. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-1-2-etc.) Please note that alcohol is not only allowed on draft day, but recommended! My belly was full of booze last year during the draft and I won the whole dang thing! That’s gotta tell you something.

 

Regular Season and Playoffs Schedule

 

The League will consist of 2 divisions with 5 teams in each division. Your division placement will be determined by your draft number. Odd numbered teams will be placed in Division 1, while even numbered teams will be placed in division 2. Throughout the course of the season you will play each of the teams in your own division twice, and each of the teams in the opposite division at least once.

The regular season ends with the completion of Week 14 of the NFL season. (The total season points leader will be determined at this time.) The playoffs will begin the following week. There will be 4 playoff teams: the 2 division winners and 2 wild card teams - the 2 teams with the best records after the division winners. Tiebreaker order for playoff seeding is as follows: 1. Head to Head 2. Total Season Points 3. Fist Fight (or coin flip)

Entry Fee

 

There will be a one-time entry fee of $50 to be paid on draft day. No exceptions! Here is a breakdown of where that money goes:

 

$200 to the Winner of the Week 16 Fantasy Bowl

$150 to the total season points winner as of the end of Week 14 (in the unlikely event of a tie the money will be split evenly)

$100 to the Fantasy Bowl Runner-Up

There will also be 5- $10 specialty prizes: best single game/ regular season performance by a QB, RB, WR, TE, and D/SP. Ties will be split equally by the winners.

 

Trades and Free Agent Acquisitions

 

 

Okay, here’s where the fun begins. There will be no limit to the amount of roster moves that you can make throughout the course of the season. However, trading with other teams will not be allowed after week 10.  This will be done to decrease team collusion, which I should add is not allowed. You may acquire free agents at anytime during the season.

 

Trades

 

Trades between teams can take place anytime between the end of one weeks games and the beginning of the next weeks. However, no trade is official until you get my approval.

 

Free Agents

You can make a request, to me, to acquire a free agent, anytime between Tuesday and 6pm on Thursday.  If no one else requests that player by 6pm on Thursday, that player is now yours. If 2 or more teams request the same player, the team at the top of the priority list will get that player. If you miss out on a player because of your position on the list, you will be given a chance to acquire another player up to 24 hours after the free agent deadline.  For all free agents that you add to your team, you must drop an equal amount from your team. Also, if you make 2 acquisitions in one week, your team will be dropped to the bottom of the priority list, just for that week. That doesn’t mean that you can’t more than 2 moves in a week, just that you lose your priority after 2 acquisitions.

 

The Priority List

Basically, the priority list will be a list of the ten teams in the league. The team at the top will be the team with the worst W-L record and the team at the bottom will be the team with the best W-L record. Teams with the same record will then be separated by total season points, least to most.

 

Example:

1.       Team A, 0-3, 345 pts

2.       Team E, 0-3, 500 pts.

3.       Team H, 1-2, 500 pts.

4.       Team B, 1-2, 515 pts.

 

 

The list will change from week to week and you all will be made aware of the exact order of the list. You will all also receive a detailed account of all transactions that take place from week to week.

 

Starting Line-Ups

 

Each starting line-up will consist of the following:

 

1 QB

2 RB

2 WR

1 TE

1 K

1 D/SP

1 Tie-Breaker – (this player (or defense) will only be used in case of a tie. He must be a player that’s on your bench, and not in the starting line-up for that week). The tie-breaker player’s points do not count towards your season points

 

If your game still results in a tie, even after the tie-breaker player is used, the home team will get the win.

 

Under no circumstance will you start a player in a position that that player doesn’t play. (Ex. Starting Brett Favre as a RB)

 

Line-ups must be submitted, to me, at least 1 hour before the start of the first games kick-off for that week. Remember, some games are played on Thursdays! If you don’t submit a line-up to me, I will use your previous weeks line-up.

 

If one of your players is listed as questionable for the week (usually due to injury), it is up to you to decide if you want to start that player or not. If he ends up not playing, too bad, that’s all part of the game.

 

Results

 

Weekly results will be posted on this website no later than Tuesday at 8 pm.

 

Conclusion

 

I’m sure I missed something here, so if and when a discrepancy comes up, I will make the final decision on how to resolve it at that time.
