Bennett, Johnson, DreamTeam Steal Points Title From The ButtMunchers |

For the second straight year in the FFFL the season points title was snatched away by someone lower in the standings, in the last week of the season. Last year, it was the FudgePackers grabbing the title away from the PointPioneers. This year, it came down to the final game of the regular season. Going into Monday Night the DreamTeam trailed the ButtMunchers by 63 pts. with the duo of Drew Bennett and Larry Johnson to go. It seemed a lock that the 'Munchers would take home the $150 season points prize. But the fantasy Gods were not in their corner, and the DreamTeam emerged as the 2004 Season Points Champion. "All that I could think about all night was Melissa. Everytime a ball was thrown my way I would tell myself, 'C'mon Drew, catch this one for the DreamTeam' ", said Drew Bennett, a recent acquisition of the DreamTeam.. The DreamTeam's big Monday Night performance also clinched them a playoff spot. |

The playoffs are now set to go. With wins in week 14, BrettsBombers and the DreamTeam joined KingGruden and the FudgePackers as playoff teams. KingGruden held on to the #1 seed and will face #4 DreamTeam next week. Gruden is 2-0 vs. the D-Team this year. The #2 FudgePackers will square off against #3 BrettsBombers. BrettsBombers are 1-0 vs. the FudgeBoys this year.
As for the rest of the teams in the FFFL, they'll have to spend the remainder of this year thinking about what could've been. |
