Mage Venue Style Sheet

TX-023(Rage Across Sixth Street)

Venue Name: Mages after the Storm
Chapter: Rage Across Sixth Street (TX-023)
Genre: Mage Contact: Jeff Montondon

Place/Time: Games will usually be held one Saturday evening a month, location will vary.

Game Setting: Austin and the surrounding areas were home to a few Masters, and with them gone, many of the Awakened are not as united as they used to be. There is still a War to be fought, though the generals are gone and some people think that their side already won... or lost.

Type of game to expect: I believe that variety is crucial for any game, but especially in Mage. There will be some sessions that are combat-heavy, others that are hip-deep in puzzles, and some with more intrigue. I fully realize that the Mage characters have vastly flexible capabilities that can overwhelm a plotline. My style is to adapt, and allow the players every possible freedom within the rules and bounds of sanity. I reward creativity and inventiveness, since I prefer True Magic to be run fast and loose, without getting bogged down in details. More permanent IC gains (Wonders/Arete levels) require IC work, and I don't just mean downtime. Expect at least a session or two of work and some RP to gain these things.

Proxy Issues:
If the player of the character will not be attending the game at all, I require the following:
-A person to play the proxied character exclusively.
-24 hours notice including a copy of the character sheet, equipment, custom Rotes/Wonders, and clear instructions on how the character is to be played.
-A good reason for the character to show up.
-A statement from the player declaring that they understand the character may be placed in a deadly or character altering situation without their knowledge or consent due to the actions of the person playing the proxy.

One thing I am willing to do is allow a player that has to leave the session due to OOC reasons have an ST proxy their character just long enough to finish the scene and then leave the game. This is to maintain continuity in the face of real-world problems. In this case, only the last restriction from the previous list applies.

Ratings:
Intrigue 3
Action 4
Mystery 5
Drama 3
Darkness 5

Note that Intrigue and Drama are not necessarily less important, but they are not my strong suits, where Mystery and Darkness, IMHO are the heart and soul of Mage, and I will pull out all the stops for these facets of my game. Also note that my games are occasionally "Rated R", and I have no hesitation putting in graphic sex, violence, language, mature themes, etc. if it is appropriate to the plotline.
