Pinto Beans
1 16-oz package pinto beans
1 TBSP vinegar
1 TBSP salt
1 TBSP sugar


Optional

3 slices uncooked bacon or  1-Cup-size block fatback
This recipe is a little salty. If you are unable to eat salt (or large amounts of saltiness), then omit salt and bacon.
Separate out bad beans and pebbles from bag. Rinse beans thoroughly. Add ingredients to beans in pot filled with water. Cook in bean pot or slow cooker on High for 3 to 4 hrs. or low for 5 to 6 hrs., stirring occasionally.
For a change of flavor add 2 whole bay leaves instead of bacon/fatback
