This is the second MGM flick to feature the RAF Mosquito flyers.  Well, OK, this is a United Artists foray into the Mosquito Squadrons.  This time, the bomber boys are ordered to take out the base of the Nazis' V3 rocket project.  There's only one problem: The Nazis have placed RAF prisoners of war in the compound to deter the bombers from attacking.
Starring Great Escape alum David McCallum, this film reaches an atmospheric level that 633 Squadron doesn't quite get to.  The RAF has a more authentic feel and the overall story is a bit more calculated.
Most of the Mosquito footage is new, while some of it is recycled from 633 Squadron, but nothing crucial to the plot, just a few take-off and landing shots.
This film is a great World War II ride.
