THE ORIGIN OF THE WORD SHIT (from the I Academy yahoo group)

Some exciting Historical information you need to know about
shipping manure

In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be transported
by ship. It was also before commercial fertilizer's invention, so large
shipments of manure were common. It was shipped dry, because in dry form it
weighed a lot less than when wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it
not only became heavier, but the process of fermentation began
again, of which a by-product is methane gas.

As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see what
could (and did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the
first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was
determined just what was happening. After that, the bundles of
manure were always stamped with the term "Ship High In Transit" on
them which meant for the sailors to stow it high enough off the
lower decks so that any water that came into the hold would not
touch this volatile cargo and start the production of methane.

Thus evolved the term "S.H.I.T," which came down through the
centuries and is in use to this very day.

PUBLIC URINALS

Here in the Philippines men piss wherever or whenever they want to whether it be

on the sidewalk or the tire of a truck which makes our streets smell really bad, Signs

have been put up but people just ignore them so the MMDA solved this problem by

constructing public urinals starting in EDSA. This may sound like a good idea but

knowing how poor our maintenance is regarding public restrooms are we can assume

how these urinals will be maintained.

Jollibee Ice cream

From a certain summer employee I found out that

a few years ago while he was working in Jollibee

His co-worked borrowed his towel (around 2:00 Pm)

that he uses to wipe his hands. His co-worker used it

to wipe the dust of the top of the Jollibee ice-cream mixer,

the towel was misplaced by the co-worker and cannot

be seen anywhere. My source told me that while he was

asked to refill the ice-cream in the machine there inside the

mixer he found his towel spinning inside the mixer along

with the remaining ice-cream (around 4:00 pm).

TAKE NOTE THIS OCCURRED SUMMER 2001 .
