Rachel's Note: Oh god, I know you guys are gonna kill me! I can't help it! I have to do a sad one! This story is rated PG.
It was inspired by Savage Garden's "Two Beds, And a Coffee Machine." Also, so you guys don't get confused, this is
ChiChi telling the story, until I switch to Goku, I'll tell you when I switched the stuff.
Disclaimer: DragonBall stuff dosen't belong to me and it never will, but I'll write whatever the hell I want so don't hate me!
ChiChi slowly opened the door to the cottage in the woods that belonged to her wonderful family. Her sons, Gohan and
Goten (Who are away in collage and teaching) and her loving husband, Goku. Loving. Right. For ChiChi, loving and
Goku were never in the same sentence. All he did was come back once a month from training Uub, eat and leave.
This reminded her that he was due for another visit. Oh goody. She'd have to make another banquet dinner. She
carefully opened the door with many groceries in her hand, and stepped into the lovely house. It wasn't lovely for her. It
was a weed, dragging her down to a deep bottomless lake of despair and loneliness. She did have her beautiful children,
but they were gone and they never visited anymore. Her Father and Mother were dead of old age too.
ChiChi put the groceries in the kitchen and turned around to shut the door because she had had too many things in her
hand. There was Goku, who had teleported behind her and looked with a everlasting dumb smile on his face. It didn't
mean love, it was something he'd been stuck with ever since he hit his head on that stupid rock as a kid.
"Hi ChiChi! Can I have something to eat?" he asked hungrily.
There was no "How are you?" There was no "What has been happening around here?" She pointed to the fridge, and he
raced past her and started to chug down food.
Because Goku had left, ChiChi had to make her own money to survive. She had become a low paying cook in a sleazy
diner in the pits of Satan City.
"So ChiChi, where's little Goten?" Goku asked, muffled by the food he shoved down his throat.
ChiChi sighed. This would be here third time telling him this. "Goku, he's in college and he's not little anymore. He lives in
the school's apartment."
"Oh," Goku replied with a simple sound, and left to the living room to watch something on pay-per-view. Something she'd
have to pay for!
ChiChi looked at him and said, "I'm going out for a walk, Goku." All she got was a mumbling and a laugh about a joke
they made on the pay-per-view movie. ChiChi grabbed her coat and left as quickly as she could.
ChiChi came back a few hours later to find that the fridge was mysteriously empty and the groceries were gone. Also,
Goku had left, again the house was a complete mess! Her house. She did everything for it! She cleaned it, she washed it,
she even paid all the bills Goku caused!
"THAT'S IT!!!!!!" ChiChi yelled angrily at the house.
Why was she still here? Why not explore and have adventures all her own? She walked to her room and packed all her
things into capsules. She called her boss to say she is quitting. At least he would miss her. He thought she was one of the
best cooks there. She hopped into her car and gave one more look at the house she had had children in, where they had
grown up, and drove to Gohan's house.
ChiChi knocked on Gohan's apartment and was greeted with a hug.
"Gohan, I am leaving for a trip today. A long one, and I may never come back," ChiChi said to a shocked Gohan.
"W-what?" Gohan blinked. She sighed.
"Gohan, I'm sick of this place, I'm gonna move to... America or Canada, or something. All I ask is you and your father
not to find me. I hope you understand," ChiChi said sadly.
"Mom... I... I understand." Gohan hugged his mother and let her go. "Have you told Dad?"
ChiChi winced. She hadn't thought of that. "No. I don't want him near me ever again. Please say good bye for me and
not to find me by my ki."
"Yes, mother," Gohan said with a hug. As he watched her leave a single tear fell down his cheek. Gohan known all his life
that Goku never understood love, only friendship. And that's all ChiChi was to him. A friend. Now she has finally
snapped and had done the thing she had been so desperately wanting to do for her whole marriage life.
Leave.
ChiChi made her way through the crowded halls of the college Goten and Trunks were attending. She found Goten and
Trunks's room easily. It was the only one that looked like a boom had gone off. Goten was in the room reading (I know
all of the people are out of character! I like it this way, so shut up!) on his bed. Trunks wasn't in there.
ChiChi walked in. "Goten, we need to talk."
Goten looked up from his book with a smile on his face, but vanished by the sound of her grim voice. "What is it, Mom?"
ChiChi tried to make out the words but they got caught in her throat. Goten looked so much like his father.
Goten got up and came over and gave her a hug when he felt her distress.
No, she thought. Not like Goku at all! "I'm... going to run away, Goten. I'm sick of this life and I'm going to start a new
one."
Goten's face was unreadable, like usual. "Will... you ever come back?" he asked quietly.
"Probably not. I want you to know that this has nothing to do with your brother or you," ChiChi said, equally quiet.
"It's dad, isn't it?" Goten looked down at his small mother when she nodded with tears in her eyes. "I won't search for you
Mom, but you are always welcome to come back," he said as a tear ran down his face.
"Good bye, my son," ChiChi said with a trembling voice and walked out of the small room in the college, and drove away.
(Now this is Goku's 'thought' thingy. This also is speeded ahead to a month later! ^_~)
Goku was ready to teleport to his house in the mountains, as he searched for ChiChi's ki. Strangely, he didn't find it. So
he looked for Goten's to ask him about it. Goten and ChiChi always seemed more close than Gohan, maybe it is because
of Goten spending more time at home than Gohan.
He teleported to Goten's room in his college.
Goku popped up in Goten's room and got a yelp of surprise from his youngest son. He was wearing a loose T-shirt with
raggedy jeans.
"Jeez! Dad don't do that. I nearly had a heart attack," Goten said a little shaken up by his fathers sudden approach.
"Hi Goten! Got any food?" Goku asked, joined by the sound of his grumbling stomach.
"No. Sorry dad, I'm fresh out," Goten said knowing he'd soon have to tell Goku about his wife's disappearance.
Goku looked sad, but toughed it out. "Soooo... Where's your mother? I couldn't find her ki anywhere near."
Goten winced. He didn't think it would be this soon that he'd ask. Old pain swiftly came back. He felt wetness on his
cheek, but Goku didn't seem to notice. "Dad... She... uh, dad she's on a trip and not... *choke*... coming back."
Goku look confused at him, like he had no idea what was going on. "Not coming back?"
Goten gave into his anger that his father was never there. He glared at Goku. "YOU DROVE HER AWAY, YOU
MONSTER! YOU NEVER LOVED HER! YOU ONLY USED HER FOR REPRODUCTION AND TO GET A
FREE MEAL! NOW SON GOKU, SHE IS FED UP WITH IT, AND SHE LEFT AND IS NEVER COMING
BACK! DO YOU GET IT, OR DO I NEED TO DRAW A PICTURE FOR YOU, YOU-YOU-YOU
ABANDONER!!" With that, he fell into his fathers arms weeping and sobbing heavily.
Goku took a step back. He had never seen his son with such hate before. Never coming back?... Why would she leave?
Goku hugged his son confusedly. 'Abandoner'? thought Goku. Goku knew he spent a lot of time away training, but he
thought everyone was okay with that. He tried to lighten Goten's mood. He pulled him away shoulder distance. "Don't
worry. I'll find her and bring her back!" In his usual cheerful voice.
All of a sudden, Goten hit Goku in the chin and kicked him in the rib cage. Goku stumbled back surprised by Goten's
quick move of violence. "YOU CAN'T DO THAT YOU STUPID IDIOT! SHE DOESN'T WANT TO BE FOUND!
SHE HATES YOU! SHE CAN'T STAND YOU ANYMORE! LEAVE HER ALONE YOU BASTARD, OR I'LL
FIND A WAY TO KILL YOU!" Goten screamed with furious anger that made his ki sky rocket through the roof.
Goku fell backwards on the carpet on the apartment. Goten never, never, NEVER yelled or called him anything bad.
This made him angry. "How dare you talk to me that way Goten! What's gotten into you?! I'm your father, you don't call
me things like that!"
"NO YOU'RE NOT! I HATE YOU FOR EVERY WAY YOU'VE HURT MOM OVER THE YEARS! EVERY
NIGHT YOU LEFT HER ALONE TO WORRY IF YOU WERE ALIVE OR NOT. FOR DIEING ON HER AND
MAKING HER WORRY THAT I NEVER HAD A FATHER TO GROW UP WITH. BUT MOST OF ALL IS
BECAUSE OF THE WAY YOU MAKE HER CRY HERSELF TO SLEEP WHEN YOU ARE ALREADY
SNORING AND TALKING ABOUT FOOD EVEN IN YOUR DREAMS! I USED TO HEAR HER EVERY
NIGHT THROUGH MY WALL. AND DO YOU KNOW HOW THAT MAKES ME FEEL?? BAD! THAT I
CAN'T BE IN THERE AND COMFORT MY OWN MOTHER BECAUSE HER HUSBAND DOESN'T LOVE
HER!!" With that, Goten ran out of the room with tears streaked cheeks and flew away.
Goku stood dumb-founded in Goten's room not knowing what to do with himself. Where will I get my food? thought
Goku. Goku really didn't believe that she cried about him. She was just there to make his meals and have children with
him. Right?
Goku walked over to a window and and decided maybe he'd go back to train with Ubuu some more till things cooled
down. I mean, she'll come back. She has to come back! Right?
Rachel's Note 2: Well... that was... interesting. I didn't think I'd end it like that, but that's okay. Any comments would be
great, thanxs. I'm thinking about making a sequel if you guys want one, but if ya do, you'll have ta encourage me to get off
my ass and do it.
