Together with Bernhard from Austria I went on a 10 month journey by bicycle to Pakistan.

In 1999 we both started in our home towns and met in Croatia to continue together. Our route took us via Ex-Jugoslavia and Greece to Istanbul, the gate to Asia. From there we went on through the former Sovjet Republic of Georgia, by ferry across the Caspian Sea and through the desert of Turkmenistan on the Silk Road to the ancient trading centres Bukhara and Samarkand.

The last part led us into the Pamir mountains of Tajikistan with it's peaks reaching 23000 feet and through the northern part of Afghanistan to Pakistan.
