WTIT 690 am A true story. WTIT 690 AM was a sick, drunken, boredom driven invention. Nothing more. Just four individuals entertaining themselves through politically incorrect humor. Childish and stupid, but a creative outlet that has grown into something more since it's inception back in 1995. The brainchild of Chicago locals, DJ ILLUSION, CRAZY D, & HORNY BOB…. disguised names yes, but with these alter egos, there was no end to the possibility of what these characters and their distinct individuality could do. Not for serious, artistic statement, but an ego driven kaleidoscope of comedic invention and improvisation. What started out as novice prank phone calls has now turned into state of the art entertainment on the most home grown of levels. From DJ Illusions' musical selections to fit or set a mood, mixed with Crazy D's conversations with Jesus as well as unwitting Dunkin Donuts proprietors - It then gets rounded out by Horny Bob's natural schizophrenic rambling and late comer UNCLE JOINT's 2nd to none prank phone calls. It is amazing that one inspired session of mediocrity catapulted WTIT into an Under-Under Ground sensation!!! The truth is, no one in the original group thought that it would grow into something more. Many sessions have occurred since the original summer of 95 masterpiece. (These being navigated by Crazy D, Uncle Joint and occasionally Horny Bob.) As you well may be new to the world of WTIT, it will not take you long to realize this group has NO equal, including the infamous duo known as "The Jerky Boys". Genius' themselves without a doubt, but the Jerky's stick to the formulaic prank call. WTIT leaves no genre untouched. From original songs to character invention, right down to classic "Dick" and "Shit" jokes; but done so with such grace. May it be said that no other group of individuals has done such a unique job in capturing this great, but truly untapped American tradition.
