RADIO LONDON OR BIG 'L'
A Brief History Radio London began transmissions in December 1964, a mile off the Caroline ship. She was backed by some rich texan oil barons who thought they they might make some money. That they did, Big 'L' was the most financially successful of all the off-shore stations. Radio London without doubt changed the whole sound of British Radio, slick presentation, a fab forty format and beautiful jingles were the secret of their success. Radio Caroline may have been the pioneer, but Radio London was the most original pirate.
Speaking about those great sounding jingles, here is a gem
Here is a Radio London promotional trailer

Mark Roman doing his emotional farewells from the Galaxy in 1967. Here are two airchecks from those swinging sixties, which weren't so swingin really. Well not when you had to go to that dreaded place called school.
