The author
 
            Dr. Imre Lajos Gridi-Papp was born on October 18, 1930, from hungarian parents at Istanbul where his father, an architect, spent some years with wife and children on a governmental mission. Was raised in Hungary, from 1932 to 1945, lived three years in Germany, then in France until 1952 where he completed the college studies, at the State University of Toulouse. Emigrated to Brazil in 1952, naturalized brazilian and he studied agronomy at "Luíz de Queiróz" Agricultural Graduate School. Graduated agronomist engineer in 1960 and took the agronomy doctor degree in 1971. As researcher and cotton breeder he worked at the Agronomic Institute at Campinas (IAC) beeing the head of the Cotton Department from 1976 to1993, year in which he retired.  

           He published more than 60 scientific papers, was responsible for the release to farmers of ten improved cotton varieties, co-author in three books, chairman of divers institutional, state and federal technical committees. Received institutional, state and federal diplomas for meritous services. Actually, he is a consultor at two research centers and consultor ad hoc of three brazilian scientific periodicals.

            He was initiated in radiesthesia by his father and his uncle and has studied underground waters scientifically using radiesthesical methods, since 1948.
