Fantastic Four #136
Let's face it, daddio, ain't old people a pain? Whining about their dentures and prune juice all the time, man. That's not the life for us. Young and restless cats like Johnny Storm and Medusa will see the truth and rise up against old has-beens like Reed and Ben! Lookit, friend, Reed and Ben are so old they remember when Senator Joe was sittin' on Congress. They fought in the big one! (... and we mean WW2, not the DNC Fundraising Effort!) Don't believe all that talk about selective continuity and how that isn't really what happened anymore. That's a mind game they are playing with you, and we don't play those, jack! Us youthies have been feelin' pretty persecuted lately with the old men and their commissions looking into our activities, but with your help, we're going to rock their world. Pick up your leather jacket and guitar and go riding with our leader, the Wild One, and when you see the big Skrull on a floating cube, that only means you've been taking all the right drugs. Believing in the power of a cosmic cube only makes you a square, you golden oldies, and countin' on an old fox like Reed Richards to outsmart our swinging young band is a waste of your time. And so's this story.

Feeble Four Nominee: Wild One (Wild Man, whatever his name is)
Get this, O Faithful Surveyors of Marveldom! Sometimes the most dangerous man isn't the one out in front! Nosiree! Sometimes there can be things hidden behind the scenes that are even more dangerous than you might imagine! That makes you think twice now doesn't it? Fer instance, what if old Gideon's henchman Slugger Johnson gained the power of the Shaper of Worlds? That's a really interesting idea, isn't it? Too bad it doesn't make for a great story. Howcum anyone who ever is granted their desires by the Shaper of Worlds doesn't have particularly inspired desires? To add insult to injury, this guy actually took two issues to get rid of! The FF sometimes defeats Blastaar in one issue alone! (I'm no fan of Blastaar, really, but at least he's had recurring appearances...) |
