The Infection- Edition 1 By Cyrus "The Virus"
I think it's time that I stopped being just the "average" fan of the RAWF. For several months now, I have been sitting at my computer screen, eagerly awaiting results for RAWF's weekly show Monday Night Chaos, or for their monthly pay per view spectaculars. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was sitting here as I am now browsing through the RAWF website and on the main page, one of the headlines stated that they were starting a Columns section for its viewers and/or roster members. This was an opportunity I was glad to see. At first, I didn't know if I was going to actually go through with being a columnist for the RAWF, but I said "Hey, why not? It couldn't hurt." After all, what I can and will say in my columns is my own personal opinions on the RAWF product and its wrestlers. Like my colleague Mr. Nice Guy, I will be very critical. Hopefully, my tirades against the RAWF product and/or its wrestlers will only help the RAWF be better than it already is.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Cyrus "The Virus" and this column is entitled "The Infection." Catchy, don't ya think? I thought so, too, that's why I decided to call this column that. As I said before, I have been the "average" RAWF fan for quite some time now. Two months, to be exact. In my view, the RAWF is the best wrestling organization I have come across in a very long time. It has great owners, great results, quality wrestlers, everything a organization needs to be successful and the RAWF is very, very successful in my own personal opinion.
Now, for the first portion of my very first column is to focus on the RAWF World Heavyweight Championship and the ones who have held it, thus far. The RAWF World Title made its inception at the RAWF's very first pay per view, Eruption. I wasn't watching RAWF at the time, but I came to find out that Dirge walked away the first ever RAWF World Champion. In my view, Dirge has been RAWF's greatest World Champion up to date, but there have been several people to come along and capture the World Title since Dirge unfortunately lost it at the Triple Crown pay per view held in early May. More on the past champions in a bit.
Lets focus on the RAWF's first champion.. Dirge. Dirge epitomized what a champion should be and want to be like. In my view, Dirge is the standard here in the RAWF. There is no one quite like him, in my view. He is the measuring stick. Granted he has been gone for almost two months, but who has come along to actually surpass his ability as a roleplayer? No one. No one at all. There has been no one to contest him to this point. Sure, Alex Layne was a great roleplayer, but lets face it, he is no Dirge. Since Dirge was unable to roleplay for Triple Crown due to computer problems, the RAWF was subdued to its first transitional champion. That's right, you heard me correctly, RAWF's first transitional champion was none other than Alex Layne. I was deeply saddened to see Dirge lose the belt because of a problem he couldn't help, but I had my hopes up thinking that Alex Layne was a good roleplayer and could actually keep it for quite some time and maybe contest Dirge's long title reign for over four months, but obviously I was wrong. Of course Alex Layne kept for a little over a month, if that, but where was the glory for him? There was none. Blake Zulu quickly took over the handle as the RAWF World Champion. Blake Zulu was seemingly for a lot of people in the RAWF as the greatest thing that ever happened to them... and why not, he was undefeated since his inception here in the RAWF, but only until the man behind Blake Zulu got a new job and was unable to roleplay against Shawn Dee in his title defense, therefore, our second transitional champion enjoyed a short, short title reign and that brings us to our current champion, Shawn Dee.
Will Shawn Dee pull it off and bring some prestige back to that title, or will he be just another niche for the belt? Hopefully, if Croc does indeed beat Shawn Dee this weekend at Philadelphia Freedom, he will be able to carry the title for quite some time and bring some meaning back to the belt. Now, what I'm getting at is that the World Title hasn't meant much since May 11th... the date of the Triple Crown pay per view.
Now, let me get on the subject of this past week's Chaos. I found Chaos to be a great show this week. In my own personal opinion, the best segment/part on the show wasn't a single match. To me, the part of the show that consisted of "Baggs Unleashed," a fallout between Baggs and Shawn Dee, another fallout between Dee and Magnum and Dirge coming to the ring to try and restore some order with his Elite group. I personally commend all writers during this segment. It was well written and it basically made you feel as though this was the "real" thing. It had a lot of feeling, a lot of emotion into it. I may be going out on a limb here, but the problems within the Elite Establishment are about to come to a head and I predict a Baggs/Shawn Dee feud in the very near future. A feud between the two could elevate the two to be top RAWF superstars. Granted, Shawn Dee is the current World Champion, but lets face it, he is still a little green to be the champion. A feud between Shawn Dee and Baggs could be exactly what the two need to establish themselves more. You can tell that there is some frustration in Baggs when he roleplays because of a lot of bad luck he has had in the RAWF, but a feud with Shawn Dee could turn it all around for this talented roleplayer.. same goes for Shawn Dee.
Chaos truly promoted this weekend's pay per view very well. The pay per view in itself should be a great one to read. My predictions are as follows:
Arsenal X vs. Ryhan Matthews- MTV Preshow Match
Personally, I think this is a good way to get newbies over in the RAWF. I don't know why Arsenal X is off the pay per view itself, but I'm glad to see that he is in a match on the preshow. I don't know too much about this Matthews kid, so my bet is with Arsenal X on this one.
Matt Higgerson vs. Seann Storm (c)- TLC Match for the RAWF Television Championship
On Chaos, we saw the end of a week long title reign for Matt Higgerson. Seann Storm captured the RAWF Television Championship in good fashion, but the post match was interesting. Matt Higgerson asked Seann Storm basically, if he had the balls, to give him a rematch, but this time in a more grueling type of match... the infamous Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. This match could go either way, but I am going to go with the man with a hot streak in Seann Storm.
Ryne Blood vs. Nick Claffey
This marks the pay per view return of one Ryne Blood who has been out for a good while due to injury. Claffey, on the other hand, is a new member here in the RAWF and I want to see what this kid has to offer. I am not going to make a prediction for this one because I can't really judge Claffey as of yet, but a tip for Nick, Ryne Blood is not going to be an easy task.
ADZ (c) vs. Blackout vs. Deadman K- Triple Crown Championship Match
I am personally looking forward to this match. I find Adz's work to be quite amusing and entertaining. He's a guy that can make you mad. Him winning the Triple Crown Championship is a proven fact that he is a worthy opponent here in the RAWF. The return of Blackout has been great. Now, he gets his first shot at gold at this weekend's pay per view. I personally see the real fight between Blackout and Adz. In the end, I believe Blackout will pull it off. Deadman K may surprise us all, though!
JZA Rian vs. Pickles vs. Jason Bryant vs. Taxes- RAWF Tag Team ChampionshipThe winner of this match will be crowned the RAWF Tag Team Champion. Jza Rian is already the holder of the tag team titles, but is without a partner after dysfunction within the New Blood led to Seann Storm telling them to shove it and left Jza Rian laying in the middle of the ring with both belts. I find this match that could quite possibly be one of the most entertaining on the show. The winner will not only be one half of the RAWF Tag Team Champions, but will be given the opportunity to pick their tag team partner. So, there is a lucky man out there who doesn't even have to wrestle to have gold around his waist. I am going to go with Pickles in this one. After coming off a huge victory, I can only see him continuing his winning ways, but if he does indeed win, will he give the title to Adz, or will he have someone else as his partner? Could be very interesting on Chaos next week.
G Sex vs. Kris Wayne- RAWF United States Championship Match
After the hometown boy made his return home in Sacramento this past Monday, it looks like it will be time for him to shut up and wrestle and put his title on the line against a very hungry Kris Wayne. Kris Wayne has come a long ways here in the RAWF and him winning the RAWF United States Championship would be a huge reward, but, however, I don't see him accomplishing that goal, just yet. I think G Sex will somehow retain the United States Title and move on to another opponent, but I don't think Kris Wayne will be beltless for much longer.
Big Kahuna, Sinner, Blackjack Grier, Zak Hackett vs. Baggs, JarekMagnum, Dirge, & Apoc
War Games
Two rings, two cages, eight men, four in each cage. This is War Games. There is already bad blood between Baggs and Zak Hackett since Baggs accused Zak Hackett of costing him the United States Title about a month ago. Baggs went on a short hiatus and returned a couple of weeks later and started beating down Zak Hackett, but was interrupted by Pickles who wouldn't allow him to do so any further. The following week Baggs got the opportunity to go one on one with Zak Hackett and eventually beat him to victory. Now here we are at War Games. This match will not be pretty. It marks the return to the ring for Dirge who has been away several months due to injury. One team looks thrown together, while the other is a unit. You have Baggs, Magnum, and Dirge as part of the Elite Establishment, as well as Apocalypse, who I think will be an honorary member for one night only and on the other side you have the Big Kahuna, Sinner, Blackjack Grier and Zak Hackett. Four men who have nothing in common except they are about to go through hell in those two cages. There will only be one man left standing. One winner, but his team will be recognized as well. I cannot make a prediction because it's very hard to choose out of these eight men. The match will be interesting enough.
Shawn Dee vs. Croc- World and Ironman Championships
Will Shawn Dee become just another transitional champion, or will he somehow get in a victory over the very vicious Croc? Who knows? I am really looking forward to this match. World Champion versus Ironman Champion, mano y mano, title for title. It's going to be interesting to see if Shawn Dee can win under Iron Man rules. The winner will truly be the best that the RAWF has to offer. I am going to go with Croc, however, I hope that Shawn Dee can prove my theories wrong and walk out still the RAWF World Champion and Iron Man Champion.
Until next week, this is Cyrus "The Virus" signing off.
