Supersonic Business Jet

Designer: Bobby L.

Similar in appearance to the Concorde, this aircraft is to have at least transatlantic range.  It is designed to cruise at around mach 1.5, which is not as fast as the Concorde but presents less of an engineering challenge.

The aircraft is larger than even the Gulfstream V, with a length of around 117 feet.  However, its cabin is much larger as well, allowing for 15-20 people seated in a standard "club" layout, or at least 30 in higher-density "airliner" seating.

A double-delta wing planform is used instead of the Concorde's more graceful curves.  Two F-100-PW-232 engines (a new variant of the ones that have been powering the F-15 and F-16 for years) are located in a pod underneath the fuselage.  The offset-tandem main gear, similar to the gear on the MiG-31 or AJ-37 Viggen, retract into the wing root, while the nosegear retracts forward.

Gear extended.
