Radial Jet #2

Planning for this engine started during the summer of 2002. After I realized that the first one was finished--meaning that the turbocharger was gone, and the flame tube was very inefficient, I decided it was time to make another one. This time, Im looking for a bigger turbo, so I can produce thrust, and afterburners. Im looking for something along the lines of a diesel truck turbo. As for now, all I have is some crazy designs in my head, and a few parts.

Oil PumpThe oil pump.

The oil filter. Its old and beat up, but with some cleaner, and a toothbrush, it will work again.

5/7/03-Got the new turbo, its the same kind as RJ1, but a lot nicer. Using a CAD design, I had the combustion chamber and flanges machined, and today I drilled all the hole in the flame tube.

Flame tube, and fuel injector mounted in top flange.

Whole assembly, with the turbo in the background.

The injector up close.

Flame tube mounted in combustion chamber.

The flame tube up close.
