PURGATORY is the immense zone divided into seven sections of a circular acsending stair way. Each leadge or circle of the stairway is devoted to the expiatation of each of the seven deadly sins. This sins punished in Hell are the same sins punished in Purgatory; but while the sufferings in Hell are endless, tyhe sufferers in Purgatory are given a chance to repent of and expiate their sins and are allowed to rise to the top of the mountain of Purgatory until they reached the Terrestial Paradise or the Garden of Eden. From there they can ascend to Paradise.
Seven Deadly Sins/Terraces of Purgatory
1 PRIDE- Arrogance, egotism, self-importance, haughtiness (mother of all sins).
The proud sinners bend and groan, carrying heavy weights
2.ENVY- Discontent and resentment over or desire for another's advantages, possessions, or attainments.
The envious are covered with garments of coarse horsehair
3.WRATH- Fierce anger, ire.
The hot-tempered are suffocated with smoke
4.SLOTH- Indolence, laziness.
The lazy are compelled to run around continuously
5.AVARICE- Insatiable greed for riches
6.GLUTTONY- Eating and drinking excessively.
The gluttons suffer from hunger and thirst.
7.LUST- Intense sexual desire or appetite
