A Rendezvous with Silence....

" When was it that we first met?"

Was it in the coyness of womb

Was it in the stillness of day,

Or was it in the depth of eerie darkness?"

No, it can't be- I could hear the ticking heart,

I could hear the rushing blood,

So it can't be in her womb

                    That we first met.

Nor can it be on the joyful day,

I could hear the cuckoo sing

I could hear the laughing brook

                    And also the chattering wind.

"And so I went back and forth

to know where we had met at first.

I turned to my heart to probe inside

And found you there amidst all rush.

                    "Alas you were here!

I went searching through outside world,

I went searching you day and night,

And you were here- all inside

I could have missed, so close it was."

"Now that my friend I found you,

I can't live without you-

In the rush of the day,

In the quiet night hours,

Its only you that I have.

When the whole world turn

Their back at me

I know that all I have is you!"

                    "When you are here

                    When the clouds are near

I care no bit- what the whole world say.

You woke up the "me" in me

You found out the wound inside,

You pampered the child in me,

And made smile the crying me.

"All through the winding path,

What I thought right was not to be.

They who said "love you" didn't mean

They who said "hate you" didn't mean.

I now know- all I have is you

When the winding path reach a dead end

I know its you who will stand by me

I know its you who will console me!"
