a Prayer

Dear God,

            Help me lead a meaningful life- something which will make worth the pain you took to create me. God the mistakes I've committed know no bounds- some knowingly, some unknowingly. Please forgive me for them and fill in me your knowledge so that I don't commit them again. Guide me through the darkness of night, guide me through the restlessness of day- for I am an ignorant child- and may I never find myself alone when the darkness or the restlessness, the silence or the noise frightens me. Dear God! give me the courage to do what I feel is right, to stand for your cause even if it means I have to fight the whole world; the power to stick on to the noble ideals and principles however hard the tempest is, and may resist all the tempting desires which are against your Holy will.

             Help me to grow emotionally and spiritually; develop in me a craving for perfection, a heart that is filled with love, faith & righteousness. Wash off from my mind all the dirty stains, no matter how deep they have sunk in- wash them off with raspers and blades- let a bit of blood shed, let a bit of flesh tear, let a bit of tear flow; but cleanse me till I am clean. God! let the feeling of your Omnipotence dawn into me, and let me equip myself well enough to accommodate your skillful hands to work miracles through me. Fill in me all that's chaste and pure; and finally let the good also go and let You alone remain. I am grateful to be loved by You....
