Jonathan "The Spaniard" Maurer was a candidate for Most Improved in 2006 as his contributions at the plate increased dramatically.  He raised his average from 0.412 in '05 to 0.565 in '06, hit 2 home runs, increased his RBI's by 13, runs by 11 and TB by 29.  His 2007 season followed a similar pattern, though his hitting decreased slightly as he began to pitch more frequently.  Jonathan hit 0.455 with a home run and 8 RBI's, also getting a career-high 4 doubles.

Though he now resides in Buffalo, NY, everyone hopes Jonathan will be participating in a few games this summer.
