One of the all-time greats, Al "Sparkplug" Levine had a tremendous 2005 season, batting 0.619 with 17 RBI's.  In 2006, his power and RBI's picked up (3 homers and 40 RBI's) but his average inexplicably took a nosedive, dropping all the way to 0.417.

Al is a two time Gold Glove winner who also won the Silver Slugger in 2005 and was named All-Star in 2006 despite his hitting-for-average troubles.  Through it all, Al kept his head up and persevered, earning him the 2006 Sportsman of the Year award, narrowly defeating Bill Burns for the honor.
