| The plaza where the first station of the Cross took place. In this event and evening of prayer, the stations themselves 'moved' from stage to stage up the streets of Toronto, and the crowds stayed in place. |
| Here is a distant view over the heads of pilgrims of one of the large screens along the way that pilgrims could view the drama as it unfolded. The man that portrayed Christ, the Roman soldiers, and the narrator processed from stage to stage, one stage for each of the stations. The World Youth Day Cross was carried by youth from around the world as part of the procession. The man that portrayed Jesus carried a cross throughout the evening. |
