�Bobbie! Help me!� Pua was helplessly clinging to the edge of the ice rink like a child on a mother�s leg, while Bobbie meandered around the ice with the ease of pro. She wasn�t that good but she knew how to keep herself on her feet, and that was good enough for Pua to ask her for lessons. Hearing her friends� plea for assistance she sped across the ice to save the day.
�You know,� she giggled, �The point is to stay on your feet. Not to fall on your ass and look ridiculous�.
Pua gave her the ugliest look she could muster, but to no avail, Bobbi just laughed at her. In fact she laughed so hard that she fell and dragged Pua down with her. So there they were sprawled on the ice, laughing so hard their faces hurt, when a young but handsome skater almost ran into them. He stopped just long enough to help them to their feet and smile a �you�re welcome� before he went back to his skating.
�Wow, he was cute! And he was such a gentleman!� Bobbi gushed, � He like helped us up and everything!�
�Yeah you�re right, he was really hot. I loved that beanie he was sporting.� Pua stood up straight, still holding onto the railing and sneaked a peek at the gorgeous skater.
�Wow,� she muttered under her breath.
�Ok,� Bobbi slapped her hands together. �Are you ready to try again?�
�No.�
�Come on Pua� she coaxed � It�s not really that hard�
�That�s easy for you to say! You were raised to like the ice, I was raised to like the water.�
Bobbi laughed. �Pua?�
�What?�
�Water is ice.�
�Oh shut up. You know what I meant.�
�Yeah I do, but that�s not going to keep you from getting on this rink and learning how to skate!� Planting her hands firmly on her hips, Bobbi adopted the look a disapproving parent.
�If you don�t let go of that railing right now I will pull you off of it."
Pua looked at her friend then very gently let go of the rail. The moment she did she fell, and the same skater that had almost run into them before, did this time. Smoothly he stood up, and held out his hand for her. She took it and quickly was on her feet again.
�I AM SO SORRY!� Bobbi apologized. �I�m trying to teach her how to skate and I can�t get her to let go of the railing.� The skater cocked his head to one side
�Why,� he said while trying not to laugh.
�Well cause every time she lets go she falls. I�m really sorry.�
�Hey, it�s no problem,� He looked at Pua. � Don�t feel bad, I was the same way on the ice until I got the hang of it. Once you learn it�s like swimming, you never forget.�
�Thank you,� she slipped again only to have the skater catch her just in time.
�Maybe,� he suggested, laughing, �skating isn�t your thing.�
She laughed, �I think you�re right, but I really want to learn how.�
Suddenly a voice came on the loud speaker. � All skaters please exit the rink. All skaters please exit the rink.�
Bobbi cursed, � Now I�ll never get her back here.� She paused �Hey! Pua and I were gonna watch the competition, if you want you can sit with us.�
He grinned � Thank you for the offer, but I have some where to be.� I�ll see you later though. Ok?�
Bobbi and Pua spoke in unison �Okay.�
He started to skate away when Pua stopped him. �Hey we didn�t get your name.�
�That�s ok you won�t need it.�
�What?�
� Look I have to go. I promise I�ll catch up with you two after the races ok?�
�Ok. See you then.�
With that he left to the other side of the rink, and started talking a middle-aged Japanese man.
I wonder who that is? Pua thought. Probably his Dad.
�Lets go Pua, I want to get a good seat so we can see. This is so exciting! I can�t believe we actually get to see
Apolo Ohno race!�
�Yeah I know!� Pua exclaimed
