A multiple grade I stakes winner, Heaven's Hawk is a bashful and shy colt, slow to make friends among both horse and human. His shyness also extends to his head, due to an accident as a foal. Heaven's Hawk showed impressive talent on the track, but required blinkers, a shadow roll, AND earmuffs just to get through a race! On Derby Day 2000, he froze while being led over to the paddock, reduced to a deer in the headlights once he caught sight of the hundreds of thousands cheering in the stands. He was finally coaxed into the paddock after several minutes, and his stellar runner-up performance was no doubt fueled in part by a little old-fashioned terror!
This colt breaks so fast that the jockey'll get whiplash!
Well, his natural speed is good. Should pass others with little effort.
This colt seems to really move when you ask.
We won't know for awhile, but his legs may be good for the whole distance.
Nice and dependable, always seems to run in top form.
This colt might show some improvement over jumps.
Likes to get the lead early. A definite sprinter.
Seems competitive enough.
