Gray mare 1999
by Corporate Raider - Dusty Moon, by Green Dancer
This mare is extremely laid-back. It takes her twice as long to finish her grain as any other horse, and nothing startles her. We've begun to suspect she may go into hibernation in the winter! Twilight Debut is very well-bred and knows she's pretty. She likes company and appreciates little treats from visitors.
Has a brisk starting speed. Should be in the front of the pack.
Has about an average running speed.
Not much of a burst of power here, from what I've seen. I could be wrong.
We won't know for awhile, but her legs may be good for the whole distance.
Seems to run at her best most of the time during workouts.
You may have a jumper here. Consider steeplechase for this filly.
This filly wants to get the lead early, from what I've seen.
Shows some interest in competition, which is good.

On September 17, 2001, Twilight Debut made her first start at Belmont Park. It was an uneventful race in which she performed greenly, finishing seventh. After extensive training and conditioning during the off-season, the filly returned to the track as a three-year-old with a renewed sense of purpose, but lacked the turn of foot necessary to leap to the front. She was midpack through the first three months of the year, and the filly's future with Coldwater was debated. Finally, the decision was made to give her the mandatory six starts, then retire her to Coldwater's broodmare band due to her valuable bloodlines. In her sixth start on March 25, Twilight finally showed a spark of life, running fourth in a Santa Anita maiden and earning her first paycheck. By this time she was already booked to a stallion, but we decided to give her one final opportunity on the track. She ran a career-best second in a 1 1/16-mile maiden at Oaklawn Park on April 8 and we might have considered racing her again, but no other events fit her conditions until May, when she would already be retired. So, Twilight Debut officially retired on April 9 with career earnings of $5,600.
