Spanish Sands
Multiple grade II stakes winner
Half-sister to three grade I stakes winners
Dam of SALTWATER (gr. I)

Roan mare 1995
by Spanish Coin - Flowing Sands, by Crimson Sands

Spanish Sands is a smart mare, but not always that cooperative. She is basically just a horse, and she likes being one-- running in the pastures, rolling in the mud. Uncomplicated and simple, she races when asked and does her best, asking only a carrot or two in return. She likes time to roam and can get highly temperamental if not given enough.

  • Foaled March 9, 1995.
  • Stands 15.2 hands.
  • Marked with star, sock on left hind.
  • Bred by Valentine Tricks Farm. Owned by Coldwater Creek Farm.

    G.O.T. REPORT

Fairly average speed from the break.
May be somewhat lacking in natural speed. Nice burst when you ask for it.
This one is capable of some real speed.
Seems to be able to handle a mile and more. That's good.
Not the most consistent. Has quite a few off days.
I'd say this filly would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing.
Seems to run steady. No particular style.
Shows some interest in competition, which is good.
