Everything about Fall Beauty reflects her steady, gentle nature. Her favorite treat is black licorice, but red is acceptable as well. Fall Beauty's sweet personality is as clear and as precious as a diamond. She proved an incredibly versatile racer, sound as hickory through fifty career starts and competitive at everything from five furlongs to a mile and a half, and successful at both hurdles and flat. She is now one of the farm's most valuable mares.

At 2, 1997:
Fall Beauty made her first start on October 4 at Keeneland, where she won a seven-furlong maiden in wire-to-wire fashion.
At 3, 1998:
In her debut as a three-year-old, Fall Beauty tested her endurance in a mile open allowance. She held the lead for almost the entire race, just getting nipped at the wire. After that we decided to keep her in sprints, bringing her back later that month for the ungraded Hialeah Sprint. She ran fourth after being shuffled back early. Through the end of March she raced three more times in stakes competitions, hitting competitive fields but still managing to finish in the top four. After winning back-to-back open allowances in April, Beauty ran three straight second-place efforts in stakes events. She pulled back to allowance company in July and again wired the field well in hand. Would she ever win a stakes race? Not at this age, apparently; she ran either third or fourth in four straight subsequent stakes events before giving a solid effort in the championship series, distaff sprint division (2nd, 4th, and 5th). She raced once more at three in the group I Dubai Cup Distaff Sprint and finished second, only a neck out of the win.
At 4, 1999:
We were determined to help Fall Beauty win a stakes race in 1999, but the year did not start off well as she turned in a pair of sixth-place efforts; one in a Hialeah allowance, and the other in a Gulfstream Park stakes race. After a lackluster fourth-place in the grade II Broadway Handicap at Aqueduct, we shifted Fall Beauty to steeplechase. She debuted over hurdles with a third in the grade II Oceanside Stakes, then turned in a dynamic pair of second-place efforts at Churchill Downs on a fast track and in the mud at Pimlico. Fall Beauty took on thirteen colts in the grade III Hollywood Turf Express in June and still managed third. She came back on July 5 in Del Mar's grade III Celebration Stakes, where she took the event wire to wire for her first career stakes victory! Beauty then ran two fourths in grade I competition before finishing second in Woodbine's grade III Woodbine Distaff Handicap on October 4 to finish her regular season. In the year-end championships, distaff classic steeplechase division, she finished fourth in the first event after traffic problems and then won the second in a shocking move, taking her first grade I stakes victory! Fall Beauty finished her four-year-old year with a fourth-place in the final championship event.
At 5, 2000:
Entering her five-year-old year, we felt that this might be Beauty's final year of racing and were determined to make the most of it. Fall Beauty began the season in the grade III Hialeah Dash on January 17, turning in a solid fourth-place run. She returned on February 21 to win Gulfstream's Lantern Hill Handicap, a grade III event in which she set a new Web Runners speed record for 1 1/8-mile steeplechase. Her next start was in an open allowance in mid-March, where she ended up third after clipping heels and falling back to seventh midway through. Never faint of heart, Beauty did not take the scary incident as a setback and turned in a pair of solid fourths in fine graded company over a distance she had never tried before-- eleven furlongs. On May 22, she broke poorly in the grade II San Diego Handicap and made a great run from last to capture third place. June saw her run second in an allowance at Hollywood Park after a strong late run, and she returned on July 10 to just nab the grade I Maryland Stakes at five furlongs over hurdles. What a versatile mare! On August 14, Beauty was second in the grade III Galloway at Saratoga to the talented young Dance Queen. She offered up two more strong efforts before going to post on October 23 for Woodbine's grade II Freedom Stakes. This is where Beauty finally began to show a little wear from her tough campaign, running sixth. In the championships, she was a strong fourth in the first event before running a career-worst seventh in the other two. After the veterinarian cleared Beauty to race at six, the decision was made by Coldwater to run her selectively in an attempt to boost her earnings over $1 million. Once that landmark was reached, she would be retired. In mid-November, Fall Beauty travelled to Argentina's L'Hippodromo de San Isidro with farm owner Liz Stevens and jockey Danny Gallagher for the Grand Prix Copa de Plata, a nine-furlong steeplechase affair that was part of the simulcast card for the Dubai World Cup 2000. Despite a broken wrist from a spill in the championships, Danny rode her to victory, shattering the million-dollar earnings mark by well over $150,000. What a fitting way for this filly to retire, in the winner's circle!
