A homebred for Coldwater Creek Farm, Al'falqua made ten starts for the farm but was not successful as a racehorse. She retired to the CCF broodmare band at the conclusion of her three-year-old season in 2008. Her mother is stabled at Arco Iris, and Al'falqua is the only foal of hers retained by CCF.
Starts fast at the break. A good sign.
Doesn't have much natural speed, I fear.
It's early to be sure, but her power seems a tad underdeveloped.
Seems to hold together to at least a mile. I'm not certain beyond that.
This filly appears to be pretty consistent.
I'd say this filly would show noticeable improvement at steeplechasing.
Likes to get the lead early. A definite sprinter.
Runs alertly with the others during practice. Seems to be a good sign.
