Jamie Weston - Moving On Up

Jamie Weston, of St Martin, NB, married with one son Jarrett and another on the way, gets out of his little four cylinder and jumps into his number 81 AOW machine this holiday Monday in Shediac. Weston drove a 4 cylinder at Riverglade Speedway and is turning the wheel over to his brother.
Not only has Weston had the #81 on his AOW but since the days of basketball, hockey and snowmobile racing, it seemed like the preferred number 18 was always taken so he turned it around and has always used 81.
Weston was working in a small area of his garage when Wayne Little, from Delway Truck Haulers, came by and took the car over to his spacious garage. Corey ( an AOW driver himself) and Scott, sons of Wayne Little, worked on it until it was finished. " And for free!! What a great group of people. I can't thank them enough" Weston stated.
Weston hopes to be competitive for "rookie of the year" honours and finish in the top ten. When asked if he was looking further down the road, Weston said "In two or three years, if all goes well, I'd like to go Prostock.
When questioned as to his start in racing, Weston replied "when I was young Frank Fraser picked me up and sat me in his car. Since then I knew what I wanted to do. My idol has always been Scott Fraser but I like Laurie Somerville too. As far as NEXTEL, Bobby LeBonte because he's a gentleman driver ( and uses number 18). I'd like to be similar to them.
"
EDITOR NOTE: We originally had the last name wrong on this interview, and we apologize to Jamie for this. As hard as we try, we make mistakes sometimes, but we try not to do it often.
