| Countdown is on for PASS DNK Select 250 The days drawing near for the richest Pro All Stars Series event of 2004 as scores of racers make their final preparations for this Sundays DNK Select 250 at Unity Raceway. The entry list is filled with Pro Stock racing talent from all over the northeast and the Canadian Maritimes and picking Sundays winner has to be akin to picking the right Powerball numbers. With $25,000.00 and PASS championship points on the line, the Pro All Stars Series regulars will be going all out for the prestigious win. The touring pros have made three previous stops at Maines toughest oval, producing three different race winners. Kenny Wright, Sam Sessions and Ben Rowe have each made a trip to Unitys victory lane and both Sessions and Rowe will be shooting for a repeat performance on Sunday. Rowes 2003 victory was the closest race in PASS history, beating Farmingdales Johnny Clark by a nose in a thriller that saw both cars wreck after the checkers. Clark may have come up a foot short that night but hes definitely one of the favorites going into the 250. Hes the most recent PASS race winner and sits atop the point standings after four events. Hed like to add a PASS victory at Unity to his previous weekly Pro Stock triumphs at the tough fairgrounds oval and park his DNK Select/Clarks Used Cars and Parts entry in victory lane in his sponsors race. Clark will have his hands full as you can expect the DNK Select 250 field to be the toughest and most talent-laden Pro Stock lineup in the northeast this season. Ralph Nasons back on the attack and Scott Chubbuck has become a Unity specialist of late in hopes of gaining an edge for the 250. Scott Mulkern has a Unity victory under his belt this season and former PASS regular Randy Turner is fresh off a win. Tracy Gordon, Ben Rowe and Sam Sessions join Clark as 2004 PASS winners and all three have to be near the top of the favorites list. Ted Christopher can win anywhere, anytime in any type of race car; hes got a good ride in Clinton Teagues entry and hes definitely a wildcard. Count Andy Santerre in that group too as the NASCAR ace knows how to go the distance. The list goes on and on and theres no question that the DNK Select 250 could produce a surprise winner. Its a must attend event for hard core race fans. Friday June 11th and Saturday June 12th will feature Pro Stock practice plus Unitys always exciting weekly racing action.
