Jarod Robie headed for DNK Select 250

Unity, Maine Second-generation Pro Stock racer Jarod Robie is the latest Northeastern racing star to enter the $25,000-to-win DNK Select 250 Pro All Stars Series race, scheduled for Sunday, June 13 at Unity Raceway in Unity, Maine.
Robie, a Candia, New Hampshire native now living in the Buxton, Maine area, kicked off his racing career quite successfully at Beech Ridge before moving on to Pro Stock competition on a variety of Northern New England ovals under the watchful eye of father Carleton Robie (a still-active PASS car owner) before moving on to Scott Racing, where Bruce Garrigan and a gang of Maine racers put together an effort to race full-time on the NASCAR Kodak Southeast Series, and in a few NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events.
Robie narrowly missed the top ten in NASCAR Elite Division, Kodak Southeast Series points last season, posting several top finishes on the series formerly known as All Pro. In addition to a limited PASS schedule in the SP2 Racing #9 Pro Stock, Robie will run in four NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races in the Scott Racing ride.
Among the impressive list of early entrants Robie will have to contend with for the lions share of the $160,000-plus DNK Select 250 purse is Ben Rowe of Turner, Maine, the two-time and defending champion of the Pro All Stars Series, and the winner of last years lone PASS event at Unity Raceway.  Rowe also copped Maines second-biggest racing prize of the 2003 season, a $30,000-plus score at the annual Oxford 250.
Also entered is the winner of Maine and New Englands biggest non-NASCAR Cup prize, the $100,000-to-win PASS DNK Big Dawg Challenge 400 winner, Sudn Sam Sessions of South Paris, Maine.  Sessions won the inaugural PASS title, the only driver other than Rowe to claim the crown.
The list of champions entered in the DNK Select 250 keeps on going, with Aubuchon Hardware-sponsored driver, and two-time and defending NASCAR Busch North Series champion Andy Santerre of Cherryfield, Maine slated to shoe Doug Whites DNK #45 Pro Stock in Unity Raceways biggest event ever.
Eight-time Oxford Plains Speedway Pro Stock champion Jeff Taylor of Mercer, Maine has signed on the dotted line, as has seven-time Oxford kingpin Mike Rowe, father of the aforementioned Ben Rowe, who considers his dad to be the greatest racer in Maine history.
Scott Chubbuck, a five-time champion at Wiscasset Raceway, has won several big races at Unity in the past and has to be considered a contender. Big John Phippen is a multi-time champion in the top class at both Speedway 95 and Wiscasset Raceway, and hes on the entry list along with former NASCAR Weekly Racing Series National Champion Ted Christopher. Over forty drivers have entered the event to date, with well over three months left until the date of the event.
Local and regional racing legends Ralph Nason and Stan Meserve will also be contenders for the top prize. Both drivers are in their sixties, but will be in top-notch equipment. Nasons lone 2003 start produced a $5000 win in Unitys Longjohn 150, Meserve currently is employed at Dale Earnhardt, Incorporated.
