Jeff Taylor latest DNK Select 250 entry

Unity, Maine Jeff Taylor of Mercer, the all-time leader in Pro Stock championship seasons at Oxford Plains Speedway, ended talk of a full-blown retirement with his entry to the $25,000 DNK Select 250 Pro All Stars Series race at Unity Raceway Sunday, June 13.
Taylor, owner and operator of Distance Race Cars, Maines most prolific race car chassis and parts shop, will drive a car he recently built for Cory Hight of Skowhegan, Maine.  Hight had previously entered the DNK Select 250, but has decided to put the eight-time Oxford champion, and former Busch North Series Rookie of the Year, in the seat of his #77 Hight Chevrolet, with hopes of winning the top prize.
Taylor quit racing regularly at Oxford last season and ended the year with a few PASS and open comp events, eventually selling all of his racing hardware and contemplating retirement. But when Hight dangled the opportunity to drive his brand-new, Taylor-built machine it was an offer Taylor found hard to refuse.
Taylor joins seven-time Oxford champion Mike Rowe, reigning Oxford champion Ricky Rolfe and former multi-time OPS titlist Al Hammond on the DNK Select 250 entry list, now topping forty drivers looking for one of the 33 available starting spots.
Other early entries include Cherryfield, Maine native Andy Santerre, the Aubuchon Hardware-sponsored driver seeking his third straight NASCAR Busch North Series championship during the 2004 campaign, driving Doug Whites DNK #45.
Ben Rowe, the two-time and defending Pro All Stars Series champion, and the winner of the 150-lap PASS race at Unity Raceway last season, will be a contender. Maine racing legends Racin Ralph Nason of Unity and Stan Meserve, now of Mooresville, North Carolina, will also be in competition, and are definite threats to win.
Former NASCAR National Champion Ted Christopher of Plainville, Connecticut is entered in the DNK Select 250, as are 2003 Big Dawg Challenge winner Sudn Sam Sessions, Scott Mulkern, Scott Chubbuck, Chuck Lachance, Billy Penfold, Johnny Clark, Ricky Rolfe, Duane Seekins, Gary Smith, Andy Shaw, Billy Rodgers, Billy Whorff, Lonnie Sommerville, Dean Fuller, Jeff Burgess and Big John Phippen.
The DNK Select 250 at Unity Raceway is sanctioned by the Pro All Stars Series.
