Early interest strong for rich DNK Select 250 at Unity Raceway

Unity, Maine - With five months remaining until the green flag waves on the inaugural DNK Select 250 at Unity Raceway on Sunday, June 13, over two dozen of Maines top racers have filed early entries and paid the required entry fee to compete in New Englands best-paying short track race of the 2004 season.
The DNK Select 250 offers up a healthy $25,000 payday to the winner, and the one-day payout for the Pro All Stars Series-sanctioned event exceeds $150,000. All 33 teams starting the event will be guaranteed at least $2000., and those deemed to have made every effort to qualify for the race will take home $300.
The list of confirmed early entrants includes reigning NASCAR Busch North Series champion Andy Santerre, a native of Cherryfield, Maine currently living in North Carolina. Santerre will wheel a car owned and usually driven by Doug White, co-owner of race backer DNK Select Used Cars in Farmingdale, Maine along with partner Charlie Clark.
Sudn Sam Sessions of Norway, Maine, the winner of the $100,000 top prize in last years DNK Big Dawg Challenge at Wiscasset Raceway, has entered in hopes of grabbing the biggest bucks available on the PASS tour in back-to-back seasons.
Five-time Wiscasset Raceway Pro Stock champion Scott Chubbuck will compete in the Cushman Competition Ford. Oxford Plains Speedways reigning Pro Stock champion, Ricky Rolfe, an International winner last year, will give the DNK Select 250 a try.
Multi-time Oxford titlist Al Hammond is signed up, as is multi-time Speedway 95 kingpin Duane Seekins, and legendary multi-time, multi-track Pro Stock Champion Big John Phippen of Town Hill, Maine.
Weve got entries from drivers at every track in Maine, as well as drivers from the Busch North Series and the Pro All Stars Series, says Doug White of DNK.
Rest assured there will be a healthy compliment of out-of-state and Canadian invaders before post time on Sunday, June 13 at Unity Raceway.
There was a lot of interest in this race when we went to North Carolina for their Super Late Model race, Unity Raceway promoter John Crawford says. We didnt have the entry blanks ready back then, but the purse figures for the DNK Select 250 got their attention. We think well get a couple of them to come up.
The DNK Select 250 at Unity Raceway is sanctioned by the Pro All Stars Series. For rules, purse or ticket information, check out www.proallstarsseries.com  For advanced reserved seating or spectator information call (207) 465-7266 or DNK at (888) 582-3465.
