AOW Round #1 Race Results from Centre for Speed
Chris Garnett in the #96 General Freight Carriers machine of Saint John lead all 35 laps of the AOW Season Opener Feature race to take home the Atlantic Carrier Transicold Feature Trophy. Garnett held off 2nd Place finisher #6 Lowell Affleck (Barter Center Used Vehicles) of Summerside PEI, and 3rd Place finisher, the Debway Truck Bodies #83 Corey Little. Rounding off the top five were #00 Dave Burnham of Upper Coverdale and the #46 Troy Hamm of Cambridge Narrows.
The Heat and Semi Finishes were shared by 3 AOW Drivers. The Saint John #96 Chris Garnett finished 1st in Heat #1, the #6 Summerside PEI driver, Lowell Affleck captured 1st Place both in Heat #2 and Semi #2. Donnie Sheils #75 Star-Key Enterprises machine won Semi #1.
There was strong competition throughout the entire event between the 2003 Veteran Drivers and the 2004 Rookies. The AOW rookies shared success in the heats and semis including a 5th Place finish in Heat #1 by #8 Dave Stiles, a 5th Place finish by #3 Mike Garnett, a 2nd Place, 3rd Place finish in Semi #1 by #2 Chris Hardy and #64 Jason Carnahan.
