| Chris Reid - A Star on the Rise Chris Reid, a young man from Sydney, NS, started his career at Riverglade Speedway, just outside Moncton, NB in 2001. It was a matter of being in the right place at the right time for the young Reid as his father, Robbie Reid, a well known Sportsman class driver, could not make it to the race due to unforseen circumstances. " I was put in my father's car and they haven't been able to get me out since" Reid said. Chris Reid now drives the #8 Sportsman 2004 Monte Carlo on the Can-Fan Race Tours Sportsman Series. Reid picked the number 8 because of Dale Earnhart Jr. " There were three cars home in the garage so this was the easiest way to go." Reid continued. "My goal this year is to win at least one of the Can Fan Sportsman Series races." Reid stated when asked what his hopes for this year were. Reid continued " I dream of moving up to Prostocks after a couple of years in Sportsman." " My most memorable race to this point was in 2002 at Riverside Speedway running side by side with my younger brother (Kyle) only to find out he beat me by four inches. I can't ever live that one down." Reid laughed. "My favourite drivers are/were the Earnharts, Senior and Junior and locally it was Scott Fraser. I'm looking forward to running the Tour and I'm hoping to have a good year" |
