Legend Series returns to Riverside Speedway

James River - Saturday turned out to be another great day of racing at Riverside Speedway just west of Antigonish, NS. 11 Legend teams showed up to do battle at the Maritimes legendary bullring.

New paint schemes and new cars being unveiled was the order of the day at James Rivers Riverside Speedway. Veteran Jeff Decoff showed the new colors on his #7 Kitchen Guys car. Young up and comer AJ Barkhouse had his # 15 looking good and fast right off the trailer. Scott MacLean of Pictou, NS, showed off his new car with his signature paint scheme of red and black. After a couple of years off, Ron Munroe of Halifax took his # 6 Legend car out of retirement and came to rejoin the fun. Dustin Harvey was another driver that joined the pack for some fast racing as well.

In the heat races it didn't take long for everyone to forget the long winter and fall back in last years form. Scott MacLeans new car was fast, right from the get-go, taking both of the heat races. Cy Harvey #37, Bruce Johnson #21, and Terry Barkhouse #5 gave MacLean all he could handle.

In the Main Feature, young Justin McNeil #10 and Dustin Harvey #77 got together and caused a two car pile up on lap three, stopping the race until the safety team cleaned up the twisted metal and fiberglass. Both drivers walked away unhurt. The restart saw #15 AJ Barkhouse have to do some defensive driving to hold off the hard-charging Scott MacLean. AJ went on for the win, with CY Harvey slipping into second.
