| "Mr. Inbetween" of Drag Racing Fame Don LeVoie, who hails from Dieppe NB, has been known as "Mr. Inbetween" since the early years. "At Cayuga. a track in Ontario, when I arrived at the track I was told to go park between two big trailers with my 69 Nova. Since then I have been called "Mr. Inbetween" LeVoie said with a laugh. LeVoie now calls Miramichi Dragway his home track. LeVoie has been drag racing for many years, and is a fixture at most events. He has always been the "runner up", never first, but to talk to him he's been a winner always. LeVoie has raced in the States and all over Canada. When asked about his most memorable races, "Mr Inbetween" quickly replied "There's been to many to say", but then, with a proud look LeVoie stated that "In 2003 I ran the" Snowbird International" in Florida I faced Ed Richardson in the final and was runner up". He went on to say,"there are too many Maritime super moments to name just one, but they all know me". Going on LeVoie said "there's so much fun, like the trip to States with Jim Morrison. The time I beat Charlie Cadwell, the first time we raced each other. I've made so many friends". At the Drag Racing Challenge at Sydney, C.B. where cars, bikes, snowmobiles and anything on two or four wheels came to race with their old and new friends, at the Sydney Airport, where they get to use the end of a runway for the week-end, things were a buzz. They were expecting over 200 entries. If LeVoie isn't busy enough, in his spare time he makes calenders for his buddies. If you pay him $10.00, LeVoie will place a picture of your car or whatever you Drag on this calender and have it mailed to you by Christmas. In closing Mr.LeVoie added "I raced with Joe Roy for eight years, so many thanks. Also, thank you to JR Paul Arsenault, Ty Mack, Pierrie Babineau and all my "Buddies" for making my drag racing a perfect life" He then went on to say with a laugh,"oh , and my wife and girls - my number one fans, -Rose, Lynn and Lisa". |
