| Tired of Being Behind the Wall Dwayne Brown of Bathurst, NB has worked behind the scenes for several years as a pit crew member and then a "tech" man at Shediac, NB. When asked why he turned to Atlantic Open Wheel Racing, Brown replied " I'm tired of checking and not driving." When Brown first saw the open wheel car and heard the price, he knew it was his time to "shine". "My family and friends supported me in my decision" Brown stated. Dwayne Brown is driving the #53 AOW machine. When asked a reason for choosing this number, he gleamed with pride of friends like the Cormiers. "Laurie Cormier and his family ( well known Maritime stock car legend, Adelaid Cormier) were the first there to help. Laurie donated the first money for the roll cage and got me started. They've been great." Brown went on to say " With the low cost of building and with the Tour running only every two weeks, you have time for the family and to fix your car " As to any desire to move up in class later, Brown stated " If this class stays the way it is, I won't think of moving because it is not costly. I think it will and there is already 26 cars on the tour." Brown's only goal for now is to make it without crashing. As for his favourite driver " Jim Duke - for his quickness in Sportsman class" Brown finished with " Jim (Duke), Linda (Duke), and the rest of the group are doing a fine, fine job of this( the AOW tour). |
