~Living From Above~
This poem is about the September 11, 2001 tragedy in the United States.
Young man, waking up, big dreams,
In a big city that's the way it seems.
Look out the window, to the world below,
From the 110th floor, that's all he knows.

Livin life from the top,
New York City never seeme to stop.
Seeing everything from behind the glass,
In that building is where his days pass.

Looking down for someone to love,
Everything he sees is from above.
Never knowing what it's really like,
He's all alone, waiting for the strike.

Little he knows, his small world's gonna tumble down.
Crashing, burning, screaming, all around.
When he sees his fate, what will he think?
When his only home begins to sink.

All of a sudden, he hears a crash under him,
As his world shakes, and the lights dim.
His life is going up in smoke,
Only for his work has he ever spoke.

The the whole place begins to collapse,
Will he live in another life, perhaps?
All his possesions, falling away,
Never hearing another whisper in his ear, "I love you in every way".

So what is it like looking from above?
Never knowing that feeling of true love.
I'm glad that I'm lucky enough to never know,
How it felt to be in New York when it began to go.
