1980 Ferrari 308 GTBi
Chassis No. 32957
The 308 was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina.  Its 3-liter aluminum V8 engine sits transversely just ahead of the rear axles.  The body is steel and aluminum over a steel spaceframe.  Performance and handling are average for a mid-engined exotic, but the build quality is outstanding and the injected version is a fairly civilized automobile overall.

Built in July 1980, number 32957 is an early GTBi, with the "i" denoting that it is a fuel injected car.  Ferrari built only 494 GTBis before replacing them with the more powerful
Quattrovalvole version.  I would have been happy either way with a GTBi or GTB QV;  the QV is faster, but the GTBi is less expensive to maintain, and will presumably place less stress on its engine and transaxle internals.  Given the rarity of either version and the number of examples painted red, I am quite happy just to have either!    . . . More pictures coming soon!
