The sky grew darker, now more black than the midnight blue it had been before. The cluster of Dragonballs began to glow yellow, softly at first, then rising in intensity until a stream of the yellow light shot up into the air. The serpentine Eternal Dragon, Shenlong, loomed in the sky above them. Shenlong twisted his sinuous body to glare at the small group below him.
"You have awakened me from my slumber! I will grant you any two wishes that are within my power!" he thundered.
Oolong stared up at the dragon.
"Um, yeah," he said nervously. "We want to wish Goku back to life!"
The Eternal Dragon's eyes glowed bright red for a moment, and it seemed to nod its green head.
"It has been done. Make your next wish!"
"Next wish?" Puar squeked. "Yesss...." the dragon growled impatiently. "I wish I had a closetful of ladies' underwear..." Oolong muttered under his breath jokingly. They gasped when the dragon replied. "It has been done." With that, the dragon disappeared into a yellow glow, which faded down into the Dragonballs. The balls shot up into the air, and shone brightly before shooting off in seven different directions. The shapeshifters and the old man protested violently. "That wasn't a real wish!"
Master Roshi turned and kicked the perverted pig as hard as he could. "Dammit Oolong! We could've wished for that later!" "I didin't mean to!" the pig shouted, but ran inside the house and rummaged through the underwear anyway. Puar and Master Roshi sighed and stood, looking around for Goku. "Well, where is he?" asked Master Roshi. "Where is who?"
The group turned around them to see Goku standing behind them, a hand rested on the wall of the Kame House. He grinned.
"Hi guys! It's good to be back alive again!"
"Hey, Goku!" said Oolong, grinning smugly and sauntering out of the house. But his grin soon faded.
"Hey, buddy, glad to see you. We've got some serious problems," he said somberly.
Goku looked at Master Roshi.
"Problems? Ohh..." he added, remembering Hyakuhei.
"Yeah," continued Puar. "He's killed a lot of people. The news said the death count was 10 million yesterday. He also took Bulma, the rest of her family, Trunks, and Gohan."
Goku looked sharply at them. "Where's Gohan?!"
"I...don't...know.."
Goku's eyes grew wide. He looked around, as though searching for someone.
"And Goten...and Vegeta..!?"
"Goten's gone, Goku," Oolong said quietly.
"And Vegeta's in the hospital. Apparently he's in a coma," Master Roshi added.
"Haven't you guys done anything?" Goku asked, sounding almost panicked.
The group shifted uncomfortably. They all looked down, embarrassed.
"Well, we've gotten the Dragonballs, and we wished you back..." Puar said reluctantly. "But Oolong watsed the last wish on underwear..."
"HE DID WHAT?!" The others shied away from Goku, who looked as though he was going to explode. "Goku...?" Goku sighed, slightly exasperated.
"I'm going to go see how Vegeta's doing," he told them before he blasted off towards the faint signal of Vegeta's ki.
----------
Hyakuhei grasped the small machine and quickly entered a combination of buttons with a slightly trembling finger.
His plan was falling apart...or was it? His scientists were doing fine, except a few of them were getting ill. But they were working much too slowly...could the brain wave modifier be slowing them down? Hyakuhei set the smaller machine on a table and adjusted the level of radiation on the modifier to a lower level.
He picked up the first machine and began fiddling with it. It fell to the ground when a sudden ki entered Hyakuhei's mind. It seemed so familiar, but who was it? Hyakuhei concentrated a moment, trying to figure who it was.
The Saiya-jin! Hyakuhei's eyes widened as he realized this.
"But how?!" he growled to the empty room. Angrily, he swept out of the room and faded as he teleported to the source of the ki.
Hyakuhei reappeared in a large white room. Strange devices were bleeping and humming around him. In front of him was Goku, and he was talking to a still form lying on the bed. Hyakuhei narrowed his eyes and was about to blast Goku when Goku said something interesting.
"I wish they would've found the Dragonballs sooner! Maybe if they had wished me back sooner, this wouldn't have happened!"
Dragonballs, thought Hyakuhei. What are those? Hyakuhei narrowed his eyes into dark gray slits. It doesn't matter, he said to himself, and raised a hand toward Goku. Silently, he charged ki into it.
Goku sensed the attack and whirled around, but it was too late. The blast caught Goku in the chest, sending him flying onto Vegeta's bed. He floundered awkwardly for a moment, before lying still. Sensing no ki from Goku, Hyakuhei promptly turned and left.
Right after, a doctor rushed in the room. The doctor's eyes grew huge as he surveyed the room. Vegeta was dangling off the bed, held painfully suspended by the tubes and wires coming out of his body. Lying half on the bed was a man with a huge, bleeding hole in his chest. Cautiously, the doctor checked the man's pulse. There was none.
With the sigh of one who knows this all too well, the doctor summoned for a body bag and a stretcher. He no longer questioned these strange deaths, as they happened all too often. People who had exploded, had their skin burnt away, or parts of their bodies blown away by what the live ones described as a 'bright light' came in all the time. The hospital was getting over-crowded. Mechanically, the doctor checked Vegeta's vital signs and moved the comatose man back onto the bed.

A woman nervously stepped out onto the street and quickly walked across. She paused in front of the hospital, gazing up at the tall, gray-white building. It seemed cold and unfriendly, but she could feel the desperation, fear, and pain of the people within.
She took a slow step towards the door, but hestitated when she reached the glass doors. The woman glanced inside, then turned and ran.
