"It's not up to your usual standards." What does that mean?

This was probably the most difficult one I've made yet. It took me pretty much all summer to figure out the leg and then hand positions. Then I thought it was too plain and empty, so I added the tree in the background (I managed to do that part in half an hour, while carrying on a conversation with someone).
