rachel medema
rachel has just finished a one year internship in washington d.c. and will be beginning another one year internship in geneva, switzerland.  she is on her way to becoming a life-long, low-paid intern.

rachel worked from september 2002 to august 2003 at sojourners (www.sojo.net) and call to renewal (www.calltorenewal.org) as an executive assistant to jim wallis.  she enjoyed living in community with 9 amazing people at the nosepet house and volunteering at the sitar art center (www.sitarcenter.org).

she will be moving to geneva, switzerland in september 2003 to work with the world council of churches with issues of world poverty and marginalized people as part of their diakonia & justice team..  (www.wcc-coe.org)

previous to her intern experiences, rachel attended calvin college in grand rapids, mi and earned degrees in biology and third world development and spent time in guatemala and honduras studying spanish and poverty issues.

rachel hopes to work in the broad field of education in the field of  justice and world poverty issues- possibly at a college level some day.  she also intends to learn cello, spend time hiking in the mountains wherever she may land, and attend concerts and experience art as much as possible.
