| In August 2006, I officially graduated with a Masters in International Public Affairs from the La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I moved to Washington DC in June, after finishing my formal coursework. The idea was that Matt and I were both jobless, and DC seemed to be the best city for us to both find jobs in our respective fields. I was there for a total of five days before leaving for a summer language program in Vladimir, Russia. The program was amazing--please check out my pictures! While I was in Russia, I had several phone interviews to work for CET Academic Programs, a study abroad company based in Washington, DC. They offered me a job as their Prague Programs Manager, and I decided to accept. I am responsible for two study abroad programs in Prague. One is focused on Jewish Studies and the other is Central European Studies. I'm learning a ton right now and feeling like I'm drowning in all of my new responsibilities, but the bottom line is that these are great programs and I'm happy to be behind them. And it's really great that I get to use my Czech language skills a little bit, and I'll be able to travel to Prague a few times a year to monitor the programs! Matt and I are slowly adjusting to life in DC. It's great being able to commute on the metro, because I wouldn't want to have to fight rush hour traffic around here. We're getting to know what DC and our city-like suburb of Silver Spring have to offer. Feel free to pay us a visit! Well, that's about it. If I haven't heard from you in a while and you haven't heard from me in a while, at least now you know what I've been doing. I do mean to keep in touch with people better, so please send me an e-mail or a letter, and I'll do my best to answer. Return to main web page |
